Boon has a master's degree in IT and is a certified SCRUM Master. Boon has more than 35 years of experience in IT roles ranging from software engineer and product manager to CTO, CIO, and CEO across New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Japan, China, and India. Boon’s academic mission is to mentor and equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the IT industry, emphasizing practical application and real-world experience. In his spare time, Boon plays competitive badminton and goes to the gym.
