Future Skills proudly launched its Certificate in Building Compliance (Level 4) at the ABC 2025 Conference in Auckland this week, marking a significant milestone for New Zealand’s building compliance industry.
Unveiled in front of key industry professionals, regulatory bodies and local councils, the programme was met with strong interest. As the first dedicated qualification of its kind in Aotearoa, it aims to strengthen capability in the compliance and inspection sector, filling a vital training gap for Building Warrant of Fitness (BWOF) and regulatory roles.
The launch aligns with the ABC Conference’s focus on national consistency, industry collaboration and workforce development. With an emphasis on practical, workplace-connected learning, this qualification reflects a growing need for trained professionals who understand New Zealand’s building legislation and compliance frameworks.
Future Skills was proud to be part of this year’s ABC exhibitor line-up, standing alongside leaders committed to improving safety, standards, and transparency across the built environment.
Special recognition goes to HOD Brent Rodgers, Programme Manager Helen Hegley, CEO Nick Yerni, and ABC's CEO Trent Fearnley for their defined focus in developing this initiative. With this dedicated team, we are confident that the future of our built environment will be stronger and more sustainable.
