Future Skills is a private training
establishment based in Manukau
City, close to the Manukau
City Centre. We specialise
in job training in information
technology and trade skills, as
well as foundation skills. We offer
programmes for students aged from 15 years.
Free training
All training is free to eligible students. A travel
allowance is also provided. (TEC Youth and TOP
eligibility criteria apply.)
Foundation skills and job training combined
We recognise foundation skills are as important
as job skills when it comes to a person’s
employability, and their general well-being.
Learning to read and write, and communicate
effectively, can be as important as learning a trade.
The development of both foundation and vocation
skills are incorporated into all of our programmes.
A broad range of courses
We offer a broad range of beginner and
intermediate courses including business
administration, computing and office technology,
multi-media computing, information technology,
electronics, printing, and air-conditioning and
refrigeration.
Each year we review our courses to ensure that
they meet the needs of industry. We work in
partnership with local employers and industry
bodies to ensure our courses train our students in
the skills employers are looking for.
Individually tailored programmes
We work with each student to assess their
individual learning needs and tailor-make a
training programme that suits their needs and
interests. We help them to set learning and
personal goals, and meet with them regularly
throughout their training to review their progress.
Work experience
Work-ready students are assisted to gain work
experience during training.
Assistance with finding a job or further
training
Upon completion of training all students will be
assisted with obtaining a job and/or accessing
further training.
Committed Staff
Our staff are experts in the courses they teach and
all have significant industry experience.
Facilities
Future Skills has excellent facilities close to Manukau
City Centre including fully equipped
computer, electronics and trade laboratories.
We offer a free shuttle between our campus and
Manukau City Centre.
National Qualifications
Future Skills is registered and accredited with
the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).
All training programmes offer units.
