We are looking for a person to take primary responsibility for key administration systems and processes to ensure efficient and effective functioning for our academic program management.  This role is based at our Auckland International campus.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Contribute to the academic planning of the Academic Directorate, and the formulation of annual business plans and objectives.
  • High level administration of the Learning Management System (Moodle) so that it meets all regulatory compliance needs, and data accuracy and integrity is safeguarded. This includes customisation of course packages, permissions and notifications as well as the tracking, reporting and automation for users.
  • Provide innovative eLearning solutions to academic staff, supporting all technical aspects of new courses set up in the LMS, starting with Moodle course design, ongoing training and support for all new and existing academic staff, through to resolving and troubleshooting of technical issues related to the LMS.
  • Provide an effective scheduling timetable, integrating optimal utilisation of resources and teaching staff and identifying any sub-optimal deliveries as well as any sub-optimal utilisation of teaching staff.
  • Provide a range of high level administrative tasks including academic reports to teaching, administration and monitoring of the internal and external pre- and post-moderation systems and processes, accurate recording of the learners’ assessment results in the student management system EBS, as well as the release of the final results through EBS, in accordance with the policy guidelines.
  • Generate, analyse and present a range of reports such as final results, reports of moderation, course evaluations, interim evaluations, and course results to the academic Heads of Departments.
  • Optimal utilisation of existing tools, software, data and user analytics for presenting a range of reports to help highlight any gaps of service and identify at-risk students.

Key skills and attributes:

  • Demonstrated high level of problem-solving skills and experience in business analysis techniques and tools, plus testing and troubleshooting experience.
  • Demonstrated high level expertise in the use of large-scale networked information systems, databases, timetabling systems, student allocation systems, spreadsheets and word-processing software including data extraction and report presentation and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Immaculate attention to detail, with excellent organisational skills, the ability to effectively manage a busy workload and provide complex administrative support to senior management.

Qualifications and experience;

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and a relevant business discipline.
  • Previous work experience at a tertiary provider, an understanding of the NZ tertiary education sector and exposure to international students.
  • Proven advanced experience working with the following teaching tools and software (Turnitin, Moodle, Selma, EBS) is essential
