Bridging Course in
Foundation Skills
Training for ages 15-18 years
About the Programme
This training programme is designed for people who need
upskilling in foundation skills before starting a vocational
programme such as computing, electronics, printing, airconditioning,
etc. It will include training in English and
communication skills as well as maths and study skills.
- This course is taught by a specialist tutor who will
tailor-make a course that meets each student's learning
needs.
- Some of the areas of study may include writing, reading
and maths, as well as communication skills, work and
study skills, self management, interpersonal and social
skills, personal care skills, occupational health and
safety, and business information processing.
- Students may combine their foundations skills training
with a vocational course in the afternoons. For example,
they can learn about developing websites, how to build
and manage a computer network, develop business
administration skills, or explore electronic devices and
systems. Or, they can learn trade skills such as how to
run a printing press and qualify as a Printing Assistant, or
undertake pre-apprenticeship training in air-conditioning
and refrigeration.
|
|
- The key is flexibility - we will assess each student's needs
and create an individualised programme.
