Introduction
to Electronics
Training for ages 15-18 years
About the Programme
This programme provides students with the basic skills and
knowledge to enter the electronics industry and set them
on the path to becoming a technician or repair person.
The programme is self-paced which will enable the student
to progress at a rate determined by their enthusiasm and
interest.
- Future Skills has its own electronics laboratory so that
students can gain practical experience while training.
- Students will learn the principles of electronic devices
and systems. They will be able to utilize various hand
tools and identify electronic components. They will gain
proficiency in important skills such as soldering and desoldering,
construction of basic electronic circuits, and
electronics fault tracing.
- The importance of the use of personal protective
equipment, anti-static prevention, and technical and
theoretical proficiency in workplace safety will also be
covered.

- Students completing this course can look to obtaining
a job in the electronic or electrical environment in an
assembly or production line as an apprentice or trainee. They will also be well prepared for continued study in
electrical or electronics technologies.
- Work-ready students will be assisted to gain work
experience during training.
- Upon completion of the training all students will be
assisted with obtaining a job and/or accessing further
training.
