About the Programme
At Future Skills we recognise foundation skills are as important as job skills when it comes to a person’s employability, and their general well being. Learning to read and write, and communicate effectively, can be as important as learning a trade. This training programme is designed for people who require upskilling in foundation skills before moving on to further training, which may include the armed forces.

This course is taught by a specialist tutor who will tailor-make a programme that meets each student’s learning needs. The programme has a number of components including: reading, writing and maths, work and study skills, self management, career development, leadership, teamwork, communication skills, logic and problem solving skills, and physical fitness. The course aims to prepare students in the skills required for entry into the armed forces, or will support those students who are not accepted, into alternative pathways. The Army recruitment application process will be part of the course and students will be actively supported through the process until their application has been approved for the next intake.

The key is flexibility– we will assess each student’s needs and create an individualized programme.
