Bridging Course to the Armed Forces
Incorporating lamp
(Language and Mathematics Programme)
Training for ages 16-18 years

About the Programme
At Future Skills we recognise foundation skills are as important as job skills when it comes to a person’s employability, and their general well being. Learning to read and write, and communicate effectively, can be as important as learning a trade. This training programme is designed for people who require upskilling in foundation skills before moving on to further training, which may include the armed forces.
  • This course is taught by a specialist tutor who will tailor-make a programme that meets each student’s learning needs.
  • The programme has a number of components including: reading, writing and maths, work and study skills, self management, career development, leadership, teamwork, communication skills, logic and problem solving skills, and physical fitness.
  • The course aims to prepare students in the skills required for entry into the armed forces, or will support those students who are not accepted, into alternative pathways.
  • The Army recruitment application process will be part of the course and students will be actively supported through the process until their application has been approved for the next intake.
  • The key is flexibility– we will assess each student’s needs and create an individualized programme.
